360-Degree Video and Virtual Reality Technology from PlaceVR Makes Virtual Visits and Meetings Possible

(Paintsville, Kentucky – May 5, 2021) One East Kentucky has launched a 360-degree video tour of Kentucky Enterprise Industrial Park that makes it possible for site selectors to look at available land from the comfort of their offices. Virtual Reality (VR) goggles give viewers an immersive experience that makes them feel like they’re really visiting this spot in Eastern Kentucky.

“We’ve been interested in the virtual reality technology that Golden Shovel Agency has been developing for economic development. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we knew that it was the right time to leverage technology as much as we can to keep moving forward,” said Chuck Sexton, President and CEO of One East Kentucky.

It’s always a challenge to get site selectors to visit a rural community in person, and concerns about travel have made onsite visits even more difficult. When combined with a Virtual Meetings App, Sexton and his staff can not only make prospects aware of available land, resources, and amenities, they can meet together in a virtual environment as well.

“When we showed One East Kentucky how the Virtual Meetings App worked, they were all in” said Aaron Brossoit, CEO of Golden Shovel Agency. “What the app does is to put meeting participants in the center of the 360-degree scenes where they can converse as they pause and play the video.”

One East Kentucky is collaborating with Golden Shovel Agency to create a series of six videos and 3D building renderings that will market available land in industrial park sites and existing buildings that are for sale.
