A community’s existing businesses and industries serve as the economic growth engines and set the stage for the local business climate. They create new jobs and improve the community’s overall prosperity and quality of life. As such, One East Kentucky and its partner organizations have identified the need for a formal Business Retention and Expansion program. The BRE program is a collaborative effort focused on providing both resources and support to businesses. Our goal is to learn about the needs, challenges, and opportunities within your business and connect you with tangible solutions that remove barriers to growth and are critical to long-term success.
The BRE survey is a tool utilized by the program to facilitate a variety of functions, including:
- Developing a clearer picture of the number and types of business operating in our region
- Identifying business workforce needs
- Recognize and anticipate challenges that impede business growth and economic diversification
- Facilitate access to local, state, and federal programs designed to improve competitiveness
The information collected during these surveys is used for economic development purposes. It is never shared or disseminated. Keeping your business information private is a top priority for One East Kentucky.
Central to the BRE program is a business outreach and visitation program. We want to know you and your business and serve any business assistance needs you may have. The visitation program allows us to learn more about your company and identify ways that OEK can best support your efforts.
