One East Kentucky Uses Virtual Reality to Target Foreign Direct Investment for Eastern Kentucky Business Park

360-Degree Video by PlaceVR Can Be Loaded on VR Goggles and Shipped Anywhere in the World

(Paintsville, Kentucky – April 21, 2021) One East Kentucky is using 360-degree video and Virtual Reality to promote opportunities for Foreign Direct Investment in Eastern Kentucky Business Park. The use of this innovative technology makes it possible for economic developers to attract attention and meet with prospective investors without having to travel.

“We were already considering PlaceVR technology before the COVID-19 pandemic because of its ability to give site tours to investors wherever they are in the world,” said Chuck Sexton, President and CEO of One East Kentucky. “As people start to travel again, it still makes sense to use VR because we can reach more people.”

One East Kentucky can place their video on their website and direct web traffic to it through social media, email, and digital advertising. Viewers can take a look all around, and up and down in the video on any device but it’s VR goggles that will give the most intense experience.

“When someone watches a 360-degree video with VR goggles, it’s like they’re standing in the middle of the scene,” said Aaron Brossoit, CEO of Golden Shovel Agency. “Their brain responds as though they’re really in a new place and that’s what makes the message so memorable.”

One East Kentucky will be able to utilize a Virtual Meetings App developed by Golden Shovel Agency to meet with investors as though they’re in person. Meeting participants can converse with each other while viewing the scenes in the 360-degree video, answering questions and developing relationships leading to closed deals.

One East Kentucky is collaborating with Golden Shovel Agency to create a series of six videos and 3D building renderings that will market available land in industrial park sites and existing buildings that are for sale.
