Infinity Design & Construction Group Expands to Floyd County, Creating 36 High-Wage Jobs

8 Oct 2024
Infinity Design & Construction Group, Inc., which provides 3D scanning and design for the construction industry, announced plans to open a second fabrication shop to expand its presence in Kentucky. The new location is on a 7.5-acre parcel in Langley, within Floyd County. Infinity will have a 43,850-square-foot production facility to support its client base.
“Infinity is a great example of a company fully committed to serving its community and the commonwealth,” says Governor Andy Beshear. “Kentucky is experiencing a period of economic development growth because companies like Infinity continue to believe in our workforce and resources.”
This expansion plan reflects Infinity’s commitment to the state of Kentucky, but also the value the company sees in the One East region. The expansion project should support growth for both Floyd County and Infinity Design & Construction.
Infinity Will Bring High-Wage Jobs With Benefits
Infinity Design & Construction estimates that its expansion project will create 36 jobs in Floyd County across 15 years. According to Kentucky State Representative Ashley Tackett Laferty, wages will fall between $41.50 and $66.65 per hour with healthcare and pension benefits.
However, there are several potential long-term benefits to Infinity's move to Floyd County. These technical design and fabrication jobs can support local commercial and industrial construction projects. There are also tertiary benefits, like employees patronizing nearby restaurants and retailers more often, boosting local businesses.
“One business expanding to Floyd County sends ripple effects through the entire region,” says Colby Kirk, President and CEO of One East Kentucky. “It supports employment and the local economy while elevating our corner of Kentucky to become more competitive in supporting commercial and industrial construction projects.”
Infinity Benefits From the Kentucky Business Investment Program
Infinity continues to invest in Kentucky because it believes in the future of this state, but also because of the incentives that make growth easier. The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) reached an agreement with Infinity to provide $1.25 million in tax incentives in response to its $1.75 million investment. The state benefits through job creation and private industry growth, while Infinity enjoys a reduced tax burden.
Floyd County is an Excellent Choice for Infinity to Expand
Moving to Floyd County and other parts of the One East region has several benefits. Infinity’s leadership team can easily reach its main facility in La Grange, just outside Louisville. Floyd County is also within driving distance of Knoxville, Nashville, Charlotte, Columbus, and Indianapolis.
Along with the key location advantages, Infinity was able to find an industry-ready building with affordable utilities. Once the firm is ready to hire, it will also have a strong labor pool to pull from.
“I have no doubt that Infinity Design & Construction will thrive in Floyd County,” says Kirk. “The people in our region are eager to support business investment and growth. This is just the first step for Infinity’s bright future.”
